Elvis is in the House for LARC Ranch Fundraiser
Scheduled for September 21
Santa Clarita, California (July 30, 2008) LARC Ranch's annual fundraiser, scheduled for Sunday, September 21 at LARC Ranch, will feature Elvis impersonator Raymond Michael, "one of the best Elvis acts in the world," according to Dick Clark. Lunch and refreshments begin at 1:00 p.m. and the concert is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
Funds raised from this year's event will be applied toward the creation of a physical therapy room, the updating of electrical systems for emergency purposes, and their Disaster Relief fund, which includes the renovation of the pool facility.
Long recognized as one of the best Elvis tribute acts around, Michael recently returned from a successful tour commemorating the 25th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley. A highlight for any Elvis fan, this mid-western tour found him performing in the same venues Presley did 25 years ago during his last concert tour.
Nestled in the countryside of the Santa Clarita Valley, are the 65 acres of LARC Ranch, which is celebrating its 49th year. LARC Ranch provides residential and day programs to over 105 residents and provides services to both its residents and to day clients that live at home. LARC provides an optimum lifestyle for its residents within an exceptional home-style environment and places importance on recreation and socialization.
Today, the LARC Ranch Villa Community, Ruth and Allen Ziegler campus is a self-contained community of 13 individual villas. Additional facilities include the ADC day program, an auditorium, a gymnasium, an indoor swimming pool, a sports park with a picnic area and a newly renovated pavilion and amphitheater for evening movie viewing and summertime musical entertainment. LARC maintains a community-based work program in Canyon Country and a HUD home in the community for higher functioning individuals.
It is LARC Ranch's mission to serve this very special population with dignity and respect and see that all special individuals are afforded the equality of services entitled to them through the Lanterman Acts.
The cost of the event is $125 per adult, $50 for children or a package price of $325 per family. All proceeds benefit the LARC Foundation.
