Fatal Traffic Collision — Valencia
Tuesday, January 13, 2009, 8:45 a.m. — Valencia:
A fatal traffic collision occurred in the intersection of Wiley Canyon Road and Tournament Road this morning. The driver of a 2004 Honda Civic, Dejah Morris F/25, of Newhall was driving eastbound on Wiley Canyon Road making a left turn onto northbound Tournament Road. Peter Neptune, M/23, of Lancaster was riding a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle and was traveling westbound on Wiley canyon Road. As Neptune entered the intersection, he struck the side of the Honda. The impact caused the Honda to flip onto its drivers side.
Peter Neptune was treated at the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department and was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital where he later died of his injuries. Dejah Morris was also transported to the hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station's Traffic Office is continuing their investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident should contact Detective Smoldt of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station at (661) 799-5111. There is no further information at this time.
