Neighbor Arrested In Residential Burglary
Saturday, January 24, 2009, 2:10 p.m. Unincorporated Los Angeles County Stevenson Ranch: Deputies responded to the 26000 block of Beecher Lane, Stevenson Ranch, Saturday to reports of a residential burglary. The homeowner reported that over the course of several days, between January 02, 2009 and January 14, 2009, someone had entered his house and stole United States currency, jewelry, and other items valued at more than $40,000.
Unbeknownst to the suspect, the homeowner had an elaborate video surveillance system that captured and recorded the events. Deputies reviewed the footage with the homeowner and determined the suspect, who was seen in the video allegedly taking items from the house, was his nearby neighbor of nine years. Deputies responded to the neighbors house and arrested the suspect.
At the time of his arrest, the suspect was reportedly wearing what appeared to be the same shirt seen on the videotape when crimes were committed. The suspect, Vincenzo Dellolio, MW/38, of Stevenson Ranch, was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on felony Burglary charges. He was arraigned today and held to answer on two felony counts of residential burglary with special allegations. The suspect is being held in lieu of $200,000 bail pending future court proceedings.
Detectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station's Burglary and Theft team served two follow-up search warrants yesterday afternoon at a Stevenson Ranch home and a local personal storage facility in connection with the case.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available at this time. -ref 01530
