Barricaded Murder Suspect - Further Update

Unincorporated Los Angeles County - Gorman
49700 Block of Gorman Post Road, Gorman
Victim: Female Adult
Prior to a Sheriff's Special Weapons Team entering the motel room, a sheriff's K-9 was deployed in an effort to get the suspect to surrender. After there was no response from Grammer, a Special Weapons Team entered the motel room and found the suspect unconscious with a puncture wound to his chest. A firearm was recovered.
The suspect was airlifted by sheriff's rescue helicopter (Air-5) to a trauma hospital. The hospital doctor reports that the wound to the suspect's chest was actually a K-9 bite that resulted in a minor wound. The suspect remains comatose and is undergoing treatment by medical professionals.
Initial reports that the suspect had suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound were incorrect. Instead it appears that the wound was from a K-9 bite and the suspect is comatose due to the possible ingestion of controlled substances.
