Wayward Parolee Nabbed on Gun Charge
C.I.T. Operation Aims At Parolee Compliance
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department / City of Santa Clarita's Community Interaction Team (CIT) conducted a parole search and compliance operation in Santa Clarita Wednesday. The operation is part of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station's on-going proactive efforts to ensure that convicted felons living in the valley are in compliance with the terms and conditions of their parole, after release from state prison.
As part of the operations plan, deputies and other officials identified 10 locations in Newhall, Valencia, and Saugus to be checked. During one of the checks in the 24800 block of Alderbrook Drive, Newhall, deputies recovered a shotgun and a loaded handgun which they determined was a direct violation of the terms and conditions of one of the parolees.
The suspect, Daniel Arnold, MW/35, of Newhall was arrested and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on felony charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and a Parole Violation. He is being held without bail pending future court proceedings.
