Serious Traffic Collision - Vehicle vs. Pedestrian
Monday, July 20, 2009 - 1:00 p.m. - Santa Clarita
A serous traffic collision occurred this afternoon on southbound Bouquet Canyon Road, North of Newhall Ranch Road, Santa Clarita. A 1993 Toyota Corolla, driven by Denise Alvarado, F/34, of Palmdale, was traveling southbound on Bouquet Canyon Road in the number three lane when it struck a pedestrian who was crossing from the east curb line to the west curb line.
The pedestrian, male/16, of Santa Clarita, was treated at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel and was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. The name of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification to his family.
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station's Traffic Office is continuing their investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident, and has not yet talked to deputies, should contact the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station Detective Maag at (661) 799-5112. There is no further information at this time.
