Come Celebrate the Joy & Beauty of Art at the Santa Clarita Artists' Association's XIX Art Classic
Can you even begin to imagine life without art? Certainly, life without art would be simply unthinkable. Art inspires, enlightens and entertains; sparking the intellect and awakening the senses. Art is a universal language and unites humanity by way of illustrating the common threads of experiences shared by all people.
Have you ever wondered where the art is in Santa Clarita? Look no further than the Santa Clarita Artists' Association's (SCAA) premier art show and fundraiser; Art Classic XIX — "United by Art", which combines the best of art, music, wine and food. The event will be held at Hart Hall, 24151 San Fernando Road, Newhall, on Sunday, November 9th from 2 pm to 6 pm. Admission to the Sunday gala and awards ceremony will be $30 for 1 ticket; $25 each for 2 or more and $40 each at the door. Free public viewing of the art work is on Saturday, November 8th, from 10 am to 4 pm.
Come celebrate the joy and beauty of more than 175 pieces of original art created by award winning local and regional artists, while listening to live musical entertainment, nibbling on delicious gourmet hors d'oeuvres and desserts and quenching your thirst with a variety of beverages. Art works in the mediums of oil, watercolor, acrylic, sculpture, mixed media and photography are available for purchase throughout the exhibit and in silent and live art auctions The wide variety of styles and subjects including, realism, impressionism, abstract, plein air, figurative, landscape, wildlife and still life will enthrall and astound.
Started in 1989, the SCAA is a non-profit organization which continuously aims to improve the cultural aspects of Santa Clarita by "Making Visual Art Visible" and providing opportunities for creative growth and expression to our community. The association participates in many community events such as the Street Art Festival, Amgen Tour and Literacy & Arts Festival, with creative activities for children. As the community partner with Providence Holy Cross in its "Art of Healing" exhibit, a U.S. savings bond is given to a local elementary student. Annually, a scholarship is awarded to a high school or college student who wishes to pursue art as a career.
Help support our programs and expand the relevance of visual arts in Santa Clarita by purchasing tickets online at www.santaclaritaartists.org or by calling 661.618.0939.
