"A Chorus Line" is A Singular Sensation
"A Chorus Line" opened on Broadway to unprecedented box office success and critical acclaim and went on to win nine Tony Awards and the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. One of Broadway's longest running musicals; it was revived on Broadway in 2006. A Chorus Line is about seventeen Broadway dancers auditioning for a new show. Set on a bare stage in an empty theatre, we arrive in the middle of the audition. The field is narrowed down to 17 dancers competing for eight spots.
The show provides a "behind the scenes" glimpse into the personalities and lives of the performers as they describe the events that have shaped their lives and their decisions to become dancers. This audition is the chance of a lifetime for these dancers. It is what they've worked for every day of their lives. It's the opportunity to do what they've always dreamed of — to have the chance to dance in a Broadway show. You won't want to miss this piece of American Musical Theatre history! Produced by the Santa Clarita Regional Theatre, performances are at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons. There are only six performances: Saturday evenings at 8:00 PM on February 28, March 14, and March 21. Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM on March 1, and 15; and Friday evening at 8:00 PM on March 20.
