Garage Sale to be Held at Saugus Train Station
Purchase at Garage Sale to Help Restoration of the Historic Pardee House at Heritage Junction
The Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society will be having an Excess Freight and Baggage Sale on Saturday, September 20th, at the Saugus Train Depot at Heritage Junction in William S. Hart Park, starting at 8am. SCV Historical Society Board member Cathy Martin will be hosting the sale.
Cathy states: "Those of you that have been around long enough will remember that Betty Evans, one of the Society's past presidents, used to have these fancy garage sales named 'Excess Freight and Baggage.' She thought it was a cute name given the fact it was being held in the freight room of the depot. I will be following in her tradition and will be having a good old fashion garage sale.
Time: 8am. Date: Sept. 20th. Saturday. Place: freight room of the Saugus Train Station.
"You might be thinking I don't need any more stuff, in fact I would like to get rid of a few things! Well, that will be great if you would like to clean out your EXCESS and bring it by the Station for donation. All of the funds raised will be going to the completion of the Pardee House at Heritage Junction.
"I would like to invite you all to come by the depot on that day to browse the sale and take a peek at what we have planned for this upcoming Halloween — AKA Heritage Haunt. See you all Saturday Sept. 20th at 8am.
"For more information about drop off times, you can call me (Cathy Martin) at 661-259-0059 or call Pat Saletore at the depot, 661-254-1275. Thank you for helping us keep our mission statement alive: 'Preserving our past for future generations.'"
