Court Upholds Phase 2 of Newhall Ranch Project    

The Newhall Land and Farming Co. announced Tuesday that the Los Angeles Superior Court has upheld the extensive environmental review process that was conducted for the company's Mission Village development, a village within Newhall Ranch.

City, Sheriff's Officials Team Up to Seal House

Santa Clarita and Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station officials worked together to barricade anyone from entering a Canyon Country home. The house was found to be in violation of numerous health and safety codes, as well as being a suspected home where illegal activity was undertaken repeatedly.

Plea Deal Offered in SCV Man's Murder-for-Hire Trial  
A Canyon Country man accused of trying to pay a man to have his wife killed was offered an undisclosed plea deal, officials said Tuesday. Dino Guglielmelli, 53, of MacMillan Ranch Road, is accused of trying to pay $80,000 to have his wife killed.

SoCal Edison Rep Tapped to Lead VIA Board in 2015

Anna Frutos-Sanchez, a respected executive with Southern California Edison, has been named the 2015 Chair of the Valley Industry Association Board of Directors. Frutos-Sanchez will succeed current Chairman Chris Chapleau of American Business Machines.
