Alexia Alilah Cina, 21, of Canyon Country, has entered a no contest plea for a DUI crash that killed a 37-year-old mother of six on Golden Valley Road in October 2017, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced Monday.

A Van Nuys man suspected of transporting more than 2,600 bundles of cocaine for sale was arrested in Gorman after Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station deputies discovered the stash in his car during a traffic stop Thursday morning.  
Ham Radio Field Day 
The Santa Clarita Amateur Radio Club took part in the annual American Radio Relay League Field Day. Held at the Castaic Lake Water Agency's office, members made the contest free and open to the public, teaching locals the importance of ham radio in emergency situations.

Archaeological California basketry that survives today - woven baskets, trays and water bottles made prior to European contact in the latter half of the 18th Century - tends to be "cave finds." It was protected from the elements by, and found in, caves or rock shelters. Else the vegetal material would have disintegrated long ago.
