SCV's First Viable Forest Trail Dedicated Hikers,
volunteers and city officials gathered in the Angeles National Forest
over the weekend for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening
of Dagger Flat Trail. "Dagger Flat is the first viable trail on our side
of the (Angeles National) Forest," said Dianne Erskine-Hellrigel,
executive director of the local Community Hiking Club, who spearheaded

Four From Farris Fuel Victory for TMC Capping
off a string of six matches over the course of 15 days, The Master's
College women's soccer team beat Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
5-2 Saturday at Reese Field. Katie Farris put the Lady Mustangs on the
board first after connecting with Kinley Kane of Santa Clarita at the
6:54 mark. Twelve minutes later, Farris scored off a joint assist from
Kelsey Kukaua of Valencia and Elvia Contreras of Santa Clarita, giving
TMC a 2-0 advantage. She'd score twice more before the final whistle

Wrestling returned as a sport this year in the Hart School District -
at Valencia High School only. Back in the day, no school athletic
calendar would be complete without wrestling. Here's the 1966 wrestling
team at Hart High - which until 1968 was the SCV's only high school.
