Cordeiro to Succeed Winger as Newhall Schools Chief
 
The Newhall School District announced Tuesday that Paul A. Cordeiro, the district's onetime assistant superintendent of instruction, will take over the role of superintendent Feb. 1 from Dr. Marc Winger, who previously announced his planned retirement.
Homicide detectives Tuesday said they suspect an Antelope Valley man, despondent over a custody battle, intentionally drove his car into the back of a big rig, killing himself and his two children.
