Santa Clarita Valley Committee on Aging Celebrates 30+ Years of Community Service to Our Elders
The Santa Clarita Valley Committee on Aging is hosting its 32th Annual Meeting on January 23rd, 2009. The meeting and celebration, "High-Fives for All the Little Things We Do," will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center, 22900 Market Street, Newhall.
Local dignitaries, organizations, and public officials will be present for officiating and congratulating the Committee for service that has enhanced the lives of tens of thousands of our elders over the decades. The public is especially invited to attend this year since many will be surprised at the amazing community "reach" and involvement enjoyed by the SCV Senior Center. We touch many lives besides elders in our Valley!
The SCV Committee on Aging will be honoring local organizations that have shared the mission of the agency over many years as well as other awardees including volunteers whose dedication spans decades of service to the Santa Clarita Valley Community. They will also be highlighting the good works of the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center Foundation.
The evening's celebration includes music provided by Fiddle, Sticks & Ivory Plus, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres befitting the occasion will be provided by Be A Guest At Your Own Party Catering beginning at 5 p.m. Again, the event is open to the public, especially those who support the enhancement of independence, dignity, and quality of life for our elders throughout the community.
