Spring Cleaning with a Purpose
E-waste Collection Sunday, March 29
The SCV Senior Center, 22900 Market Street, will be the location of an e-waste collection on Sunday, March 29th between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The GRANDS Project is spearheading this drive to raise funds for the Senior Center. So, start your Spring Cleaning with recycling your old or unwanted computer equipment, TVs, GPS and FAX machines, stereo systems and speakers, copiers and calculators, cellular phones and telephones, plus, video games and consoles (please include all accessories), empty inkjet cartridges, digital cameras and iPods with accessories, PDAs/Palm Pilots with all accessories, and DVD movies in original packaging.
GRANDS is using two different recyclers for this effort. Electronic Waste International is a licensed California authorized Recycler & Collector. In addition, some goods will be refurbished, remanufactured, or repaired when possible by the Cartridges for Kids Program, a Colorado-based certified EPA recycler; salvaged goods will be donated to military service men and women or resold with the goal of re-use instead of waste.
GRANDS (Giving Respect And Nurturing to Deserving Seniors) is sponsoring this e-waste fundraiser to raise funds to refurbish the SCV Senior Center. For more information, call Jan Fear, 661-299-1561, or Corinn Miklosovic, 661-607-2579.
