April 6-20 Is L.A. County Public Health Week
On Wednesday, April 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., JoAnna Levinson, R.N., M.S., Los Angeles County Public Health Nurse and Community Liaison will visit the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center, 22900 Market Street, bringing interactive education and public health awareness in a fun and fascinating fashion. (To be held in the lobby near the front door.)
Another Special Event: On Thursday, April 23 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., an "Energy Workshop" will be held in the dining room. Brought to us by the Energy Coalition and the City of Santa Clarita, this workshop offers a great opportunity for senior residents to learn about the recent energy efficiency retrofits that the Senior Center has received. In addition, the City of Santa Clarita and Energy Coalition will speak about environmental and sustainable topics, which will include information on City programs. Utility programs and how to save money and energy will also be addressed.
For information or further details, please call Diana Sevanian, R.N., SCV Senior Center Health & Wellness Director at 661-255-1588, ext. 138.
