L.A. County to Conduct Senior Stakeholder Meeting
In the next two decades, the senior population of Los Angeles County will double from 1.4 million to 2.8 million seniors! For this reason, the Board of Supervisors has asked Chief Executive Officer William T. Fujioka to develop plans to prepare County services for this explosive growth. To meet this challenge effectively, Community & Senior Services (CSS) has implemented a Seamless Senior Services (S3) initiative to identify existing programs and resources, and create a "no wrong door" or seamless service model for seniors of the future.
Over the past few months, CSS has held Stakeholders meetings around the County and will now be holding such an information-gathering meeting here locally. On Friday, April 10, from 1-3 p.m., the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center, 22900 Market Street, in the Newhall area of Santa Clarita will host senior citizens, City representatives, caregivers, senior advocacy groups, and senior service providers who wish to comment on the integration of County senior programs and proposed recommendations for the future.
