Hart District Parents Head Back to School
Fall doesn't just mark back-to-school for students. It's also a time for parents to visit classrooms in the Wm. S. Hart High School District to get acquainted with their children's teachers, learn classroom rules such as homework requirements and grading standards, and see first-hand the campuses where their sons and daughters spend their days.
Some schools offer refreshments or the opportunity to buy food as a fund-raiser for campus activities. Some showcase their performing arts groups, and many offer exhibits of student artwork and classroom projects. Some have tables where sports teams and extracurricular groups can explain their programs and sell spirit wear, and some even provide a family carnival atmosphere with games and activities.
All sites offer parents a chance to follow their students' schedules to meet teachers and get some insight into classroom expectations. This year's Back-to-School Night schedule kicked off with Placerita Junior High on Aug. 26. Schedule for the remaining events is as follows:
Thursday, Sept. 4 Arroyo Seco Junior High (6:30-8:30 p.m.); La Mesa Junior High; Sierra Vista Junior High (performances 6 p.m., classroom visits 7 to 8:35 p.m, reception in multipurpose room, 8 to 9 p.m.); and West Ranch High School.

Thursday, Sept. 11 Saugus High School (5 to 8 p.m.)
