Your Guide to Public Performances in the Hart School District / 2008-2009 School Year
Nov. 1 — Hart High Band Boosters host their 25th annual Rampage marching band field show tournament, featuring marching bands and pageantry from across Southern California — Noon to 9 p.m., College of the Canyons Stadium. Nov. 11-14 — Hart High School Theatre Arts Department presents "Ur in Town (the Musical)" — 7 p.m., Hart Auditorium. Tickets $10. For information, Brent Christensen at bchrist@hartdistrict.org.
Nov. 19-21 — Valencia High School's Drama Department presents Arthur Miller's "A View from the Bridge," a piece on the very hot topic of illegal immigration that is as topical today as the late 1950s, when it is set — 7 p.m., Valencia Theater. March 18-19 — West Ranch High School band and orchestra Festival Showcase concert featuring musical groups from West Ranch and Rancho Pico Junior High– 7 p.m. Rancho Pico multipurpose room. Jazz ensembles and orchestras March 18; bands March 19, featuring performances prepared for adjudicated festivals. Tickets $5.
March 26-28 — Golden Valley High School spring drama, "Little Shop of Horrors" — 7 p.m., Hart Auditorium. Tickets, $12; information or reservations, Janie Prucha at 298-8140, extension 1616.
March 31-April 1 — West Ranch High School will host bands and orchestras from across the Hart District as it presents its Solo and Ensemble Festival — West Ranch High School. Admission is free.
April 24 — Joint concert featuring bands from Rio Norte Junior High, Valencia High School and elementary feeder schools - Rio Norte gym. No admission charge.
April 28 — Santa Clarita Choral Educator's Association presents the 24th annual SCV Choral Music Festival featuring choral programs from Placerita, Rancho Pico and Sierra Vista junior high schools; Castaic Middle School; Hart, Saugus, Canyon, Valencia and Golden Valley high schools; Santa Clarita Christian; College of the Canyons; and The Master's College — 7 p.m., Grace Baptist Church. Admission $10.
May 2009 — Placerita Junior High Theatre Department spring dinner theatre. Details TBA.
