Young Life's 25th Anniversary Celebration "An Event You'll Flip Over"
SANTA CLARITA, CA. Young Life is at work with young people in the Santa Clarita Valley being available to students, providing fun, safe and comfortable gatherings, offering students the right to be heard and communicating God's love in terms students can understand. Santa Clarita Valley Young Life is hosting its 25th Anniversary Celebration - "An Event You'll Flip Over" on February 19, 2009 from 5:30 to 10pm at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Having been a part of the fabric of the community of Santa Clarita for 25 years, Young Life is celebrating its 25th anniversary by hosting a private party at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The event includes an all-you-can-eat buffet and all the rides you can handle, including children's area Bugs Bunny World. Appropriately titled "An Event You'll Flip Over" has aspirations of being an annual event and truly will be a night to remember. The tickets are $35 per person with a Buy 3 get 1 Free option and all children under 3 get in free.
Young Life in the Santa Clarita Valley is a volunteer-led organization. More than 40 Young Life, Wyld Life, Fun Life, YoungLives, and the Bridge volunteer leaders of all ages and demographics, are currently reaching out to students at Valencia, Saugus, West Ranch and Hart high schools as well as Placerita and Rio Norte junior highs and Castaic Middle School, with future plans for reaching every student in the community. Through weekly "club," meetings, small groups, summer camps, weekend excursions and one-on-one time with students, volunteer leaders and staff build unconditional relationships with teenagers and model God's love.
This past summer, local Young Life took more than 100 high school and junior high students from the SCV area to camp. Leaders set aside a week to focus exclusively on the young friends they built relationships with all year. Young people want excitement, heart-pounding adventure and a safe place to be themselves. That's what the Young Life camps deliver.
Young Life is an international organization for middle, high school and college students. Our staff and volunteers enter the world of students, focusing on what matters to them fun, adventure and friendship. In doing so, we earn the privilege of talking to them about something that we think matters most of all the truth about God and His love for us. Founded in 1941, Young Life has more than 3,000 staff and 28,000 volunteers and is active in more than 50 countries reaching an estimated one million students annually. Young Life leaders bring more than 74,000 students to one of our 20 premier camping properties in operation in North and Central America; more than 15,000 students experience Young Life camping in other locations around the world.
