ABOUT THE ARTIST
A bright, beautiful and vibrant California teenager, singer/songwriter
Serena radiates nothing but joy, passion and drive for what is her ultimate
dream; music. After showing real promise as a powerful vocalist and a
prolific songwriter, Serena met up with Grammy Award-winning producer,
engineer and musician Gary McGrath and started working on her debut 7-song
solo EP, titled "Allow Me to Introduce Myself", to be released on McGrath's
label GB Records.
The songs that started emerging from this musical partnership showed
solid melodic hooks, telling the story of a young girl's life in her own
words. Before the CD was even completed, Serena's feisty anthem "You Blew
It" caught the attention of producers for the upcoming NBC comedy series
"Love Bites", created by Cindy Chupack ("Sex and the City".) In addition to
being included on the show during its impending first season, "You Blew It"
has also become one of the most requested songs on RadioBuzzd.com. The
success of the first single has also secured Serena an endorsement deal with
Daisy Rock Guitars; "the Girl Guitar Company."
At 14, Serena is already a seasoned stage performer with several
years of experience as part of E.S.C.A.P.E. Theatre, most recently playing
the role of Mrs. Darling in their acclaimed production of "Peter Pan" to a
packed house at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center.
Serena's debut CD "Allow Me to Introduce Myself" is a collage of strong
pop melodies, poignant lyrics, and compelling statements of female
independence. Pulling together her influences from rock, punk, pop and
r'n'b, drawing comparisons to anyone from Avril Lavigne to Jewel and Grace
Slick but keeping the uniqueness that can only come from a tenacious
mind, Serena's talent is the kind that only deepens, expands and blooms as
she explores her true, genuine self.
