Men and women who have served in the United States Military, along with their families, were honored at a special veterans day ceremony in Newhall Monday; Two front row chairs sat empty in Veterans Plaza in memory of two WWII veterans who were fixtures at the annual event.

A young Santa Clarita couple was killed in a Friday night crash on Highway 14 north of Lancaster; Habitat for Heroes broke ground on a veterans housing project in Santa Clarita; City leaders kicked off the holiday season during the inaugural “Light Up Main Street” block party in Newhall which featured a new “Community Tree” lighting in front of the library; local weather.

Sports:
The Saugus Centurions dominated the Wildcats Friday night, took 4th in league and earned a spot in the playoffs. Both Valencia and Canyon will host first round playoff games against Redondo Union and West Torrance.
