2013 Leadership Luncheon

Review of the Valley Industry Association’s recently completed 2013 VIA Leadership Program, with an opportunity to see the caliber of speakers the program attracts. Noelia Rodriguez, former press secretary to First Lady Laura Bush, discusses her career and some of the leadership lessons she’s learned along the way.

Currently chief communications officer for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Rodriguez is the immediate past director of the John F. Kennedy Forum at Harvard University. Having started her career with Southern California Edison, she was deputy mayor for Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan, as well as president and CEO of LA 2000, the host committee for the Democratic National Convention.

The luncheon program includes presentations from members of the 2013 Leadership Program, sharing some of the lessons they’ve learned over the course of seven months. Topics include ethics, managing meetings, work/life balance and more. The program also features a team project focused on team building, personal development and conducting research to help improve VIA.

The Valley Industry Association of Santa Clarita represents business interests throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. VIA provides our members, a blend of industrial, commercial and service companies, the opportunity to collaborate on a broad range of business issues. In addition to being a legislative advocate, VIA serves as a one-stop shop for relevant business information, supports local educational initiatives, and provides networking opportunities. If you are currently doing business in Santa Clarita or are considering moving your business here, VIA is the conduit to business connections in the Santa Clarita Valley.
