Over 300 athletes enjoyed the thrill of victory Tuesday at the Sixth Annual Hart Games held at Valencia High School.

The district­wide competition was sponsored by the Adapted Physical Education Department of the William S. Hart Union School District and the Special Olympics, with a goal of stimulating an interest in physical activity among students receiving specialized instruction, and rewarding those who achieve.

Students from La Mesa, Placerita, Rancho Pico, Rio Norte, Sierra Vista junior high schools participated, as well as students from Canyon, Golden Valley, Valencia high schools and Trinity Classical Academy. The Valencia high school track team helped with equipment and provided more than 40 volunteers to ensure the success of this event.
