Benefit Raises Big Bucks for Boys and Girls Club

Santa Clarita’s finest dressed to the nines and revisited prom on Friday night for the 44th Annual Boys and Girls Club benefit auction.

The sold out event was held at the Hyatt Regency, a big change from past years, and raised about $200,000 for the club, according to event officials.

“It’s really raising money for the kids,” said Ronda Chobanian, developmental director for the Boys and Girls Club. “I’m excited because I believe this year will be the most successful dollars and cents wise.”

The doors opened at 5:30 p.m. and offered guests the opportunity to bid on over 200 silent auction items including a Maltipoo puppy, Taylor Swift private suit with limousine bus and Dodger dugout tickets.

Co-chairs Mike and Ann-Marie Bjorkman presented the event and crowned Missy Skinner as prom queen and Michael Lebecki as prom king.

“This is such a good cause and the Boys and Girls Club does so much,” said Ann-Marie Bjorkman, co-master of ceremonies.
