The Reel | Week of 11-9-2015: By the Sea; The 33; Netflix
This week we have some exciting theatrical releases and of course we take peek on the online streaming world of Netflix to see whats new to their library.
First we have, By the Sea, directed by Angelina Jolie, set in France during the mid 1970’s, Vanessa a former dancer and her husband Roland seem to be growing apart, but when they linger in one quiet, seaside town they begin to draw close to some of its more vibrant inhabitants.
Next is The 33, this compelling film is based on the real-life event that happened 5 years ago in Chile at a small mining town when the San Jose mine collapsed in Copiapo, 33 miners were trapped under more than two thousand feet.
Last, but not least, we have Love the Coopers. When four generations of the Cooper clan come together for their annual Christmas Eve celebration, a series of unexpected visitors and unlikely events turn the night upside down, leading them all toward a surprising rediscovery of family bonds and the spirit of the holiday.
In the online streaming world of Netflix, this Friday they will be releasing John Mulaney: The Comeback Kid 2015, The special was taped at the Chicago Theater.
Lastly Netflix will add, Dior and I (2014), a documentary who brings the viewer inside the storied world of the Christian Dior fashion house with a privileged, behind the scenes look at the creation of Raf Simons’ first haute couture collection.
