Friends, family, colleagues, and others gathered in Lancaster on Thursday morning to celebrate the life of Sergeant Steve Owen, who was killed during a burglary call in Lancaster. FBI officials, working with LA County Sheriff’s Department investigators, suspect that the two men who robbed the California Bank and Trust in Stevenson Ranch to be of a crew known as the “Palm Tree Bandits”. Hundreds of children are born with heart defects every year; ranging from mild to severe, the American Heart Association serves them all, including a little girl from Valencia. Saugus High School celebrated the opening of their new football field on Thursday afternoon. Gather up your home movies: the Valencia Library will be celebrating the 14th Annual International Home Movie Day with a showing of amateur films on Saturday, October 15.
