GOLD MEDAL STUDENTS OF THE WEEK- Team Gold Rush congratulates our Gold Medal Students of the week for the Week of May 22, 2017.
Kimberly Ramirez is a wonderful student who focuses on her academics at all times. She is always on task and puts great effort into her work. Additionally Kimberly is friendly, caring and sweet, and we are happy to have her on the team.
John Rosales has a positive energy about him that’s so appreciated in the classroom. He is genuinely curious about what he’s learning and isn’t afraid to share his ideas with the class. He is also diligent about completing his work and ends up with good grades as a result.

8TH BBQ- Attention 8th grade students: The last day of school 8th grade BBQ is quickly approaching! The BBQ will take place on Thursday, June 1st, from 9 a.m. – 11:35 a.m., behind the Boys and Girls Club. ASB requests a $5 cash contribution to obtain a ticket, which will be available for purchase from Monday, May 22nd, through Wednesday, May 31st, at the ASB window. There is a waiver on the back of the BBQ flier that MUST be signed by your parent or guardian in order for you to go on the inflatables! Please be sure tp clear your name off the Library LOP list, and please bring your ID when obtaining a ticket at the ASB office. The items included with admission to the BBQ are:
• A Colorful Lei
• A Tommy’s Burger and Fries
• A Self-service Glitter Tattoo
• 1 – Souvenir Picture
• Access to All Games and Attractions
• Refreshing beverage
• Shaved Ice Truck

SSA  POTLUCK!- Safe School Ambassadors, the time has come for our end-of-the-year potluck! We appreciate everything you did for our school, students and staff this year, so we want to celebrate your accomplishments. On Wednesday, May 24th, please bring any contributions like chips, cookies, fruit, drinks, and so forth to Room 101 before school, and then join us at the beginning of lunch for the feast. FUN FRIDAY SOCCER- Attention students that wanted to play soccer in the Fun Friday that was moved to today – please remember that you need to turn in the waivers to participate in room 1002 ASAP. Students cannot participate without the waiver. Please see Mrs. Terranova in room 1002 if you have nay questions.

ASB MEETING- Attention students in ASB for 2017-2018, this is just a reminder that you have a “Meet the Pros” meeting after school TODAY from 2:15 – 3 pm in room 1002. Please see Mrs. Terranova if you cannot make it.

8th GRADE SIX FLAGS TRIP- Attention students attending the 8th grade trip to Magic Mountain, the bus lists have been posted in the bulletin cabinet on the back of the office. Students are not permitted to switch buses. Thanks!

SV CHOIR CONCERT- Tonight is the event we’ve all been waiting for, Sierra Vista Choir’s Spring Concert! Join us in the MPR at 7 PM for amazing music sung by your talented peers, and delightful snacks at the bake sale! Tickets are free with a student ID, or $5 without. We hope to see you there!

DFYIT MEETING- Last DFYIT meeting of the year is TODAY after school in the MPR. Canyon High School DFYIT Coordinator will be giving a special presentation. See you there!

STAFF VS STUDENT SOFTBALL GAME- Our 4th Annual Staff vs. Student Softball Game will be taking place Friday at lunch out on the baseball field. Come watch the undefeated teachers take on this years 8th grade team. It’s going to be a great game, so don’t miss it!
