“Hollywood” Dance: For students who will attend the “Hollywood” Dance: please note that you MUST bring your ID card with you or you will be sent to the back of the line. Party Pack members just need to show their ID card to get into the dance; they don’t need an actual ticket since their name is on the list. Doors open at 2:30 P.M. Backpacks can be stored in the backpack cages in the PE locker rooms. Students will not be admitted to the dance after 2:45 P.M., so please do NOT leave campus after school if you’re attending the dance. You will want to bring money for the pizza, our “Red, black and white” themed candy bar, and beverages that are available for sale. The dance ends at 4:30pm. Students are NOT allowed to leave early due to safety reasons. Please be sure to follow dress code. This will be a casual dance so students will NOT have to change for this dance. Please see Mrs. Terranova in room 1002 if you have any questions.

Volleyball: This year’s October intramural sport is Volleyball. During lunch in October, we will be holding a round robin style tournament, with the winning team receiving medals. Each team can have up to 8 players, with 6 being on the field at a time. Go to the Sierra Vista homepage and under News and Announcements, click on the link to sign up. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Drabinski. The last day to sign up will be Thursday October 4th.

Fall Break: Next Monday and Tuesday, October 1st and 2nd, are fall break! We don’t have school those days so be sure to inform your parents or guardian(s). We hope you have a great break!

Annual LA County Science & Engineering Fair: Sierra Vista Junior High School will be competing in the 68th Annual Los Angeles County Science and Engineering Fair this year! This will be open to 7th and 8th graders who are interested in participating. The Science Fair is sponsored by JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) and SPACEX.
October 3rd’s Emergency Alert System: On October 3rd, there will be a national test of the Emergency Alert system for all wireless electronic items that receive any sort of emergency alerts. This test is set to commence at 11:18am, and will last about 30 seconds, followed by the WEA test at 11:20 am that will last about 30 seconds. Please shut down and turn off your phone or electronic device on October 3rd on your way to your “F” period class, or put your phone in airplane mode. Please remember that this is just a test, and all is fine.

CLUBS and ACTIVITIES: Today in Clubs and Activities, we have the Tutor Club in room 626 at lunch. Alert your peers about this certain change.
