Volleyball: This years October intramural sport is Volleyball. During lunch in October we will be holding a round robin style tournament, with the winning team receiving medals. Each team can have up to 8 players, with 6 being on the field at a time. You can form a team with your friends or sign up as a free agent and be placed on a team. Go to the Sierra Vista homepage and under News and Announcements click on the link to sign up. If you have any question please see Mr. Drabinski. The last day to sign up will be Thursday October 4th.  

Emergency Alert System: Today there will be a national test of the Emergency Alert system for all wireless electronic items that receive any sort of emergency alerts. This test is set to commence at 11:18am, and will last about 30 seconds, followed by the WEA test at 11:20 am that will last about 30 seconds. Please shut down and turn off your phone or electronic device on your way to your “F” period class, or put your phone in airplane mode. Please remember that this is just a test, and all is fine.

Cancer Awareness Month: October is Cancer Awareness MONTH, and Sierra Vista has teamed up with LEE Denim Jeans in support of Cancer research! Starting Wednesday, October 3rd, we will be collecting minimum donations of $5 from any staff member &/or student who wants to support this worthy cause.  Every $5 donation equals 1 hour of service, if you need service hours for a school club/team, but anyone can donate in order to show their support! Each donation comes with a pink bracelet, and all money raised from this event will be donated to the American Cancer Society!
