College of the Canyons | COC Unveils New Parking Structure at Valencia Campus
|
Less than a year since the groundbreaking, College of the Canyons leaders unveiled the college’s first parking structure Thursday morning at the Valencia campus. To accommodate the needs of its growing student population, College of the Canyons constructed its first parking structure, which opened at the start of the spring 2019 semester. The Measure E-funded parking structure has added 1,659 new parking spaces at the college’s Valencia campus, which currently has approximately 5,000 parking spaces. With an eye toward sustainability, the parking structure also has 53 electric-car charging spaces, which were donated by FivePoint. The ribbon cutting ceremony will include speeches by Chancellor Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook, Student Trustee Sarah Farnell, and FivePoint Community President Don Kimball about the importance of the new parking structure and its impact on students. (c) 2019 SCVTV
