Five Minute Foodie | Al Fresco Dining on Main Street
|
In this episode of Five Minute Foodie, we explore Main Street in Newhall and see how restaurants there have adapted to an al fresco dining model in light of COVID-19 restrictions. We hear from city of Santa Clarita’s Arts and Events Manager Phil Lantis, who shares how the city worked with restaurants and businesses to implement solutions and programs that can help them stay afloat during the pandemic. Plus, we chat with the General Manager of Brewery Draconum and the Owner of Eighth & Rail to hear their experiences of expanding their outdoor dining area. There are many restaurants on Main Street that have expanded their dining rooms or that have utilized their patio spaces to accommodate guests outside; these restaurants include El Trocadero, El Taco Llama, Way Station Coffee Shop, The Old Town Junction, Newhall Press Room, and Smokehouse on Main. To stay updated on the restrictions for restaurants and businesses, visit the City of Santa Clarita’s website at https://santaclaritaemergency.com/ and the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health at http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/. Note: all safety precautions were taken in the making of this video, including mask-wearing by our cameraman and social distancing, when possible. (c) 2020 SCVTV
