Local officials and dignitaries celebrated the beginning of construction on the buildout of Central Park on Monday, December 6, 2021 at a groundbreaking ceremony held near the site of the expansion.

The ceremony was held at Central Park in Saugus, near the Central Park Dog Park and commenced the start of the project, which is part of the city of Santa Clarita’s 2025 strategic plan.

The project includes the addition of four multipurpose fields, field lighting, an exercise staircase, a new restroom, more parking and enhancements to the Central Park Dog Park–or “Central Bark”–and more.

The new amenities will be located at the southern portion of the park, along the Central Park hiking trail.
