On this segment of SCVTV’s Community Corner, Carolyn Olsen, Executive Director & Co-Founder of Fostering Youth Independence, joins us to share the many ways the community can get involved to help the hundreds of foster youth in our community successfully transition into adulthood.

Each year, 26,000 young people age out of the foster care system in the United States, often facing adulthood without the support and guidance of family to help them transition into this next phase in their lives; without that support, these young people can face difficult outcomes.

Here in Santa Clarita, the nonprofit Fostering Youth Independence works to support our local foster youth transition into adulthood and lead successful lives.
