SCVTV's Community Corner | SCVTV’s Community Corner: A Guide to Rattlesnake, Wildlife Safety
In this segment from SCVTV’s Community Corner, Placerita Canyon Nature Center Recreation Services Supervisor Frank Hoffman has all the do’s, don’ts, and how to’s for keeping you and your pets protected from rattlesnakes and wildlife.
When the warm temperatures rise, we all like to get outside and enjoy the sunlight. However, that also means we’re more prone to encountering wildlife that’s sometimes friendly, but sometimes dangerous.
The Santa Clarita Valley is home to multiple species of wildlife, including the ever-terrifying rattlesnake. However, there are lots of techniques and resources–including ones at the Placerita Canyon Nature Center–that can ensure you’re ready for if or when you encounter one of these infamous animals.
The Placerita Canyon Nature Center boasts both a natural area filled with trails and incredible landscapes, as well as a variety of classes, programs, and events that connect residents with the surrounding natural environment.
Head to Placerita.org for classes, hiking trail information, park information, and more.
This show is all about you Santa Clarita – the nonprofits, the schools, our local government, and the amazing people who make up our wonderful community.
