The “Hart of the West Pow Wow” is back in 2023, marking the 29th Anniversary of this local favorite event that celebrates the traditions and culture of the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians; hear all about what’s in store for this year from Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians Senator Joseph Bodle.

The Hart of the West Pow Wow gathers together the local Native American tribe members and Indigenous peoples for a two-day celebration filled with honoring of their cultures, dancing, feasting, and singing.

The Pow Wow is free to enter, however there will be plenty of food, beverage, and shopping available to purchase from a variety of vendors.

This year’s Pow Wow will be on Saturday, September 30 and October 1, 2023 at Hart Park. While this year marks the 29th anniversary of the event, it is also the triumphant return for it after an extended pause due to COVID-19.
