Originating in the early 1960s, the market emerged alongside the North Oaks subdivision, transforming Canyon Country’s landscape.

Co-founded by Charlie Dillenbeck, a long-time local with roots tracing back to the 1940s, and Frank Collins, a poultry farmer, the market quickly became a cornerstone of the community.

The rise of Dillenbeck Market marked a significant shift in the local business scene, leading to the closure of the Solemint Store, its primary competitor.

However, the heyday of Dillenbeck Market faced challenges as Canyon Country experienced exponential growth in the 1970s and 1980s. The landscape evolved with the emergence of modern chain grocery stores, and Dillenbeck Market eventually became a nostalgic chapter in the area’s history.
