SCVTV's Community Corner | ‘Do-Nut’ Miss Out on Salvation Army of SCV’s Inaugural ‘Donut Day’ Event
|
Salvation Army of SCV Vice Chair Amber Rodriguez gives us the delicious morsels of what’s ahead for the Salvation Army of SCV Corps inaugural “Donut Day” event. Donut Day is an annual Salvation Army tradition, celebrating the “Donut Lassies” who provided much needed goods and sweet treats to the soldiers on the frontlines in France during World War 2. Nowadays, the Salvation Army marks this sweet occasion through National Donut Day, sharing the history of the holiday, hosting events, and even sharing the official Salvation Army donut recipe. The Salvation Army of SCV is marking the occasion with their first-ever local Donut Day event, opening the occasion to the entire community. The inaugural Donut Day event is on Friday, June 7 at The Cube Ice and Entertainment Center, and will feature a variety of activities and, of course, donuts. The festivities will culminate in a donut eating contest, so bring your sweet tooth and get ready to show-off your donut eating prowess in support of the Salvation Army. Interested in learning more?
