A delicious afternoon at Donut Day

The Salvation Army’s Donut Day event certainly hit the spot for the dozens of participants and attendees that headed out to The Cube on Friday, June 7, 2024.

The City of Santa Clarita’s Joel Beck took home the day’s record with a whopping 31 donut holes eaten.

City, County Hosting Summer Fire Safety Event

On June 21, 2024, the City of Santa Clarita, along with the County of Los Angeles Fifth District, LACoFD, and SCV Sheriff’s Department, are hosting their first Summer Fire Safety event. This multi-agency afternoon is open to the public and the whole family.

During the event, attendees will get to meet the Rivendale Park and Open Space goats that are helping keep the park free of excess brush. Plus, attendees can hop inside and explore an offical Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station vehicle and watch the Los Angeles County Fire Department perform a water drop above the hillside.

In addition to these fun activities, attendees can learn different ways to keep their home, family, and pets safe from wildfire dangers.

There will also be a fireworks safety demonstration, educating attendees on the importance of leaving the firework displays up to the professionals.
