Learn about the Santa Clarita Public Library’s “Food for Fines” program on a brand new episode of “This Week in Santa Clarita”. The program gives Santa Clarita Public Library card holders the chance to donate non-perishable items or toiletries at any three library branches, and have the opportunity to get up to $20 worth of fees waived. Beneficiaries include the The Salvation Army in Newhall, the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry, and Santa Clarita Grocery. Each of these nonprofits are working with a specific library branch: donations brought to the Old Town Newhall Library will be given to the Salvation Army; donations brought to the Valencia Library will be given to the SCV Food Pantry; and donations brought to the Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Branch will go to Santa Clarita Grocery.
