SCVTV's Community Corner | Santa Clarita ‘Walk to End Alzheimer’s®’ Headed to Bridgeport Park
|
Walk to End Alzheimer’s® Event Co-Chairs Bryan and Ellen Cunningham give us details about the event and share how Alzheimer’s disease has touched their lives. Alzheimer’s is a debilitating disease, affecting not only the patients, but their loved ones. The disease also causes financial stress, with the cost of care for Alzheimer’s patients continually increasing: according to the Alzheimer’s Association website, Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related diseases will cost the United States $360 billion in 2024, with projections showing a rise to $1 trillion by 2050. The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® helps raise funds that go towards Alzheimer’s care, research, and support, aiming to ultimately reach a cure for Alzheimer’s. The Santa Clarita Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is on Saturday, September 28 at Bridgeport Park. Head over to their website to sign-up, join a team, and learn more about this inspiring event.
