SCVTV's Community Corner | By-District Elections Headed to November Ballot
|
City of Santa Clarita City Clerk Mary Cusick gives important information about the upcoming November election and what City of Santa Clarita residents might see on their ballot. The upcoming Nov. 5 election is fast-approaching and with it comes some potential changes to the local, Santa Clarita area ballots, as the City of Santa Clarita City Council transitions into a “by-district election system”. This election cycle, residents in District 1–which encompasses most of the Newhall area–will see an option to vote for the City Council candidate of their choice that has qualified to run in that district. In general, voting is the civic duty of any eligible citizen, so it’s important that your registration and other voting information is as current as possible. Head to LAVote.gov to check your registration status or head to https://santaclarita.gov/city-clerk/elections/ to learn more about the new district election system.
