SCVTV's Community Corner | Halloween Fun Awaits at ‘Damian’s Not-So-Haunted House’
|
Brittany and Damian Markham join us to share their inspiring story and discuss “Damian’s Not So Haunted House”, which helps support their “Please Save Damian” campaign. Their campaign also helps raise funds for the Wylder Nation Foundation, which is on a mission to find a way to slow the progress of ASMD Type A, often referred to as “Baby Alzheimers”, a rare and fatal genetic disorder. Santa Clarita residents Brittany and Brock Markham started their Please Save Damian campaign back when they were given the devastating diagnoses that their son, Damian, was born with a rare and fatal genetic disease, ASMD Type A. Most babies with ASMD Type A do not live past two or three, but thanks to Brittany and Brock’s tireless work to seek out therapeutics and treatments, Damian is now five and a half. Their campaign not only supports the Wylder Nation Foundation, which is on a mission to fund research to find treatments to slow the progression of ASMD Type A, but also has helped them continue to support the many costs associated with treating ASMD Type A. Their event, “Damian’s Not-So-Haunted House”, will support their ongoing fight to save Damian: attendees will be able to enjoy the haunted house with their donation, as well as find delicious treats at the adjacent bake sale. The sweet and fun Halloween walkthrough is heading into their final week, with their final night being Friday, November 1.
