In this segment of SCVTV’s Community Corner, Joanne Ainsworth, Executive Director of the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry, highlights meaningful ways the community can continue supporting the organization’s mission to serve individuals and families in need.

First, the Annual Mail Carrier Food Drive is back on May 10. In partnership with Vons/Albertsons, 41,000 bags will be delivered throughout Santa Clarita. Fill it with non-perishable food, tie it up, and leave it by your mailbox for pickup. If you don’t see a bag a few days before May 10, just ask your mail carrier.

Another great way to support the Pantry is by becoming a monthly donor. Members receive a special sticker and thank-you gift in the mail while helping sustain vital services year-round.

And for the kids — there’s the “Name the Truck” competition! For a $5 entry, children can submit creative names for one of the Pantry’s five delivery vehicles, including a brand-new truck serving seniors, Acton, and CalArts students. Submit your entry by April 15!
