In this segment of SCVTV’s Community Corner, we chat with representatives from the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry about the recent cuts to federal funding and its impact on the organization.

Executive Director Joanne Ainsworth shines light on food insecurity and explains how it’s a problem that won’t be going away. She also extends her deepest gratitude to the community for their overwhelming support, which include numerous food drives and countless donations.

Rachel Compton, community development director, gave us a sneak preview of the Pantry’s 40th Anniversary Fundraising Party, which will be held, Nov. 16, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m., at Lucky Luke Brewing in Santa Clarita. It’s a pizza party with a purpose and will include beer, dancing and live music from 80s tribute band FastTimes.
