Walking is the latest trend at Meadows Elementary
School. Students in grades 1-6 participate in the Meadows Mileage Club
and the Governor's Challenge on Physical Fitness and Sports, averaging
1,700 miles a year. The Club is run by parent volunteers who mark student mileage cards,
supervise the route, tally the laps and hand out the coveted toe tokens. Volunteers
are always needed.
