Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested two men during parole probation checks on Thursday morning in Canyon Country

A murder trial could begin two years, seven months and 28 days after Canyon Country teen Dakota Demott died on Sand Canyon Road, a spokesman with the District Attorney’s Office said Thursday.

Twenty-six men from the Santa Clarita Valley will have their times and services auctioned to the highest bidder at the third annual Gentlemen for a Cause, a fundraiser for Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley.

The city of Santa Clarita is welcoming residents to apply for a pair of openings at City Hall.

This weekend, Spider-Man will take a break from fighting crime in New York and join Ekata Training Center in Valencia for their Summer Kickoff Celebration.

Thanks to the drought, you may have to rethink those summer plans to go swimming at Castaic Lake. County Department of Parks and Recreation officials announced that the swim beaches will not open this summer, because of receding water levels.
