Officials with the “Thrill Capital of the World,” have announced plans for a world–record–breaking hybrid coaster.

A couple of local girl scouts are making sure young Santa Clarita kids know how to stay safe around the water.

The City of Santa Clarita will be helping residents and their pets get prepared for a disaster by hosting a series of free workshops in September.

The 18th annual Heart of the West fundraiser earned more than $100,000 in live auction and fund-a-need donations Saturday night.

Runners will hit the pavement Saturday night for the inaugural Be the Light nighttime run/walk.

“An ADULT Evening of Shel Silverstein” plays through Saturday night at the Repertory East Playhouse on Main Street in Old Town Newhall.

Catch disco fever at Central Park in Saugus on Saturday night when Boogie Nights returns to Concerts in the Park with infectious dance grooves and moves.

Also Saturday night, don’t miss country rock and Americana legends Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen on SCVTV’s “House Blend” at 10 p.m.

Television viewers can catch the SCV NewsBreak on SCVTV at the top of every hour from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., repeating the following morning at 6 a.m. and 8 a.m.
