An unlikely source may have given Santa Clarita a boost in efforts to stop a massive mining operation on the East side of town.

Grammy-winning producer Gary McGrath and an acoustic version of his band The McGrath Project will play at Genghis Cohen in Fairfax in L.A. Friday at 10 p.m.

Television viewers can catch the SCV NewsBreak on SCVTV at the top of every hour from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., repeating the following morning at 6 a.m. and 8 a.m.
