A Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station deputy is being called a hero after saving the life of a man threatening to jump off of a freeway overpass in Castaic on Thursday morning.

The man who was found dead near Interstate 5’s Valencia Boulevard onramp earlier this month has been identified.

Habitat for Humanity of San Fernando and Santa Clarita gained 78 new affordable solar-powered homes this week.
